About the Foundation

Generations of Care

Recently retired, Dr. Nellie Grose, MD, enjoyed a long career as a family medicine and integrative medicine specialist in Houston, Texas. During her years as a doctor, she repeatedly saw how the application of mindfulness, compassion, non-violent communication, and integrative medicine improved health and reduced suffering among the people she consulted with. She then watched as those same patients who’d become happier and healthier, took their experiences and new knowledge to their families and communities and they often became happier and healthier too.

In 2008, she banded together with her sons Eric Grose, DAOM, LAc, an acupuncturist and practitioner in Chinese medicine, and Erwin Grose, who devotes hundreds of hours coaching underserved kids to play tennis, to form the Grose Family Foundation (GFF) to continue the family’s work of supplying resources to organizations working to create more healthy, peaceful, and equitable communities.
